Inside Michael Jordan’s Chicago Mansion He Finally Sold…After 12 years

After more than a decade on the market, the basketball legend has finally sold his spectacular Chicago property.

The real estate market can be unpredictable, just ask Michael Jordan. After 12 years and multiple price drops, his Chicago mansion has sold for $9.5 million. According to cllct, the property was originally listed in 2012 for $29 million, then dropped to $14.855 million in 2015. It features “an indoor basketball court, putting green, nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms and a 14-car garage.” Along with the distinctive 23 on the front gate, these Jordan-esque, extravagant details may have contributed to the mansion’s long wait to be sold.

The basketball legend bought the seven acre land in 1991 and the house was built in 1995. Despite all it’s outstanding features, that’s considered old in the real estate world. No matter the reason, we’re sure the NBA Hall of Famer is happy to finally move on from the property. In case you’re curious about this celebrity mansion, we’ve got some photos of the mansion ready for you to scroll through.

Only Michael Jordan could get away with putting his number on the entry gate and not have everyone rolling their eyes.

What makes this gorgeous piece of land standout is how beautifully the home showcases the seven acres it sits on.

Working from home wouldn’t feel like work if we had these views to look at everyday.

The kitchen underwent a remodel in 2007-08 and it shows that every painstaking detail was included.

Coffee Time

Who needs Starbucks when you have a coffee station with a built-in espresso machine right in your kitchen?

Real Dining Room

Your breakfast will absolutely taste better if you’re gazing out of these massive windows while eating it.

Fancy Dining Room

We’re curious how often Jordan actually used the formal dining room, which features the Baghdad table. There are only 10 of these tables depicting the city’s power grid.

Immaculate Living Room

We all know Black folks never use the formal living room. However, when it’s this stunning, you get in trouble for even looking at it the wrong way.

All Marble Bathroom

The home has 19 bathrooms, but we wanted to talk about this all marble option. Do you know how much it had to cost to create an all marble bathroom?

Entertaining

If you’re Michael Jordan, you can’t just pop down to the local pool parlor or movie theater when you want to hang out with your friends. Obviously, you have to build your own spot in your giant mansion.

Wine Cellar

This wine cellar is built to hold 500 bottles of wine. It’s also shaped like a basketball, something we’ll revisit later.

You don’t become the greatest of all time by slacking off.

Outdoor Space

It’s an understatement to call this a patio, as the outdoor kitchen is more advanced and top of the line than most people’s regular kitchens.

Pool Pavillion

There’s a fantastic indoor lounging space just off this pool, which is shaped like a basketball. And yes, that is an island in the middle of the pool.

Of course, Michael Jordan has a private basketball court. However, the space also has a huge lounging area and a full locker room with walk in showers.

Putting Green

Jordan’s love of golf is well-known, so it’s no surprise that he made sure the putting green was right off of his office.

Pond

Just in case you need some quiet time, there’s a beautiful pond with actual fish in it. It’s restocked regularly and might be the most gorgeous part of this propety.
