Boy, how things can quickly change in the rap game. Nearly 23 years ago, it would have felt unfathomable that someone of Dame Dashโs stature, success, and popularity would fall into the (alleged) tax bracket that he has.

Dash is best-known as the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, and it boasted the most popular artists in hip-hopโmost notably Jay-Z. But since splitting from the venture, things havenโt been exactly smooth sailing for the former rap mogul.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Dash is allegedly attempting to lower his monthly child support payments in a custody case involving the mother of his daughter, Rachel Roy. He claimed that he canโt afford the current rate and is requesting to pay $428 a month.
Unshockingly, Dash said he hasnโt made a lot of dough in the last couple of years due to failed business ventures. But even though most hip-hop fans could see that from a mile away, his most shocking revelation was that he only made about $5,000 in 2022.
Specifically, the figure he shared was $5,140. Dash also listed the coronavirus pandemic as a reason for his struggles, saying that itโs been difficult to find work opportunities, according to TMZ.
While itโs clear that Dash is not at the level he once was two decades ago, $5,000 in a year is suspiciously lowโat least according to Roy who is calling BS on that claim.
Currently heโs paying $3,000 a month in child support to Roy.
Dashโs most recent failed business venture involved Hov and the label he helped create. In 2021, he attempted to sell a โReasonable Doubtโ NFT, but was sued by Roc-A-Fella lawyers in 2022 after they claimed they owned all the rights to the album, and said that Dash cannot โdispose of any property interest in โReasonable Doubtโ.โ
As a result, the two sides reached an agreement in which Dash asserted he had no right to sell the classic album at all.
Other than that, itโs been quiet for Dash in these hip-hop business streets. Reportedly his net worth is around $100,000. While way better than most peopleโs, not the number he probably envisioned two decades ago.
