The suit was provided to CNN by Sterlingโ€™s lawyer, the report says. It comes in the aftermath of his racist tirade against blacks to companion C. Stiviano were posted by TMZ.

It also comes just a day after a day after โ€œSterling's estranged wife, Shelly, agreed to sell the Clippers to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion,โ€ CNN reports.

The NBA, Shelly Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust today resolved their dispute over the ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers," the NBA said in a statement, according to CNN. โ€œโ€ฆ Mrs. Sterling and the Trust also agreed not to sue the NBA and to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including from Donald Sterling.โ€

It also comes after two neurologists determined that Donald Sterling is โ€œmentally incapacitated, two sources with detailed knowledge of the situation told CNN on Friday,โ€ the report shows.

Sterling's lawyer, Maxwell Blecher,ย  pushed back, calling the diagnosis a โ€œvast overstatement,โ€ CNN reports.ย  Blecher said the 80-year-old was diagnosed with a "modest mental impairment" or a "slowing down,โ€ CNN reports.

โ€œ(Sterling is) far from incapacitated,โ€ his lawyer said, according to CNN.
