The high stakes drama surrounding the life Los Angeles Clippers co-owner Donald Sterling took a new turn Friday after he filed suit against the NBA for more than $1 billion, CNN reports.

The suit was provided to CNN by Sterling’s lawyer, the report says. It comes in the aftermath of his racist tirade against blacks to companion C. Stiviano were posted by TMZ.
It also comes just a day after a day after “Sterling's estranged wife, Shelly, agreed to sell the Clippers to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion,” CNN reports.
The NBA, Shelly Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust today resolved their dispute over the ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers," the NBA said in a statement, according to CNN. “… Mrs. Sterling and the Trust also agreed not to sue the NBA and to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including from Donald Sterling.”
It also comes after two neurologists determined that Donald Sterling is “mentally incapacitated, two sources with detailed knowledge of the situation told CNN on Friday,” the report shows.
Sterling's lawyer, Maxwell Blecher, pushed back, calling the diagnosis a “vast overstatement,” CNN reports. Blecher said the 80-year-old was diagnosed with a "modest mental impairment" or a "slowing down,” CNN reports.
“(Sterling is) far from incapacitated,” his lawyer said, according to CNN.
