Emmys 2024: Black Stars Ate The Red Carpet

During Primetime Emmys on Sunday night, we took a look at some of the stylish stars and fabulous fashions on the Red carpet.

It’s officially awards season in Hollywood! The 76th Primetime Emmys aired Sunday (Sept. 15), honoring the best of the best in television. This award show comes on the heels of New York Fashion Week ending and in the midst of film festivals taking over elsewhere.

Popular shows like “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Shogun,” “Only Murders in the Building” and more were all up for multiple nominations this year. Our fave actors and actresses like Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Idris Elba, Donald Glover, Nicole Beharie were all up for the gold.

But before we get to the winners, we’ve got to get into the red carpet fashions, so keep reading to see all the goodness.

Quinta Brunson

For her role as “Janine Teagues” on “Abbott Elementary,” Quinta Brunson is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Writing In A Comedy Series. “Abbott” is also up for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

For her role as “Barbara Howard” on “Abbott Elementary,” Sheryl Lee Ralph is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series.

Viola Davis

For her role as “Molly Novak” on “Loot,” Maya Rudolph is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series. For her role as the guest host on “Saturday Night Live”, she’s also up for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series.

Bringing Western flair to red carpet, RuPaul arrives on the red carpet. He’s nominated for: Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality Competition Program, Outstanding Reality Competition Program (“RuPaul’s Drag Race) and Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program (“RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked”).

Idris Elba
