"It doesn't sound right at all," said his father, Gerald Anderson.

Christopher Anderson and his daughter were involved in a car accident on Sunday. They were taken to NorthShore Highland Park Hospital and treated for minor injuries. However, at 1:30 Monday morning, hospital staff reported to police that Anderson had become aggressive and hostile.

Police say he pulled out a handgun and refused to drop it.

The incident is being investigated by the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force. Highland Park police Commander Tim Wilinski declined to answer any questions regarding the shooting.

Anderson's family is upset about the lack of answers. "Everyone's just grieving in their own way and trying to reflect on when he was here and how all of a sudden he was taken away," Gerald Anderson told the Tribune.
