โCatwomanโ received poor reviews upon release and is often referred to as one of the lesser films in the superhero genre. Still, Berry is proud of the film despite its chilly reception.
โI loved it,โ she told Fallon on the show. โIt got panned. The critics said it sucked balls. And balls arenโt that bad.โ She continued to say that sheโs loved the new life the film has found since, โchildren have found it now on the internet, and they love it.โ
โSo, itโs so vindicating,โ she explained. โBecause now theyโre saying itโs cool and what the heck was everybodyโs problem with it.โ
Of course, Berryโs mark on the superhero film genre goes well beyond just starring in Catwoman. She originated the role of Ororo Munroe/Storm in the X-Men franchise, appearing as the beloved Marvel Comics character in four films including โX-Men,โ โX2,โ โX-Men: The Last Standโ and โX-Men: Days of Future Past.โ
While promoting her latest film โThe Union,โ Berry opened up about her various injuries and skills she picked up over the years as an action star, as The Root previously reported. She shared in an interview, โIโve learned jiu-jitsu, some Muay Thai, kickboxing, taekwondo, and I learned how to shoot. I learned capoeira for โCatwoman.โโ
