βYou know me as βScarface,β but now you get the opportunity to meet Brad Jordan,β he said in a statement in 2018. βIβve done a lot of music and I did a lot of speaking [β¦] and I want to let yβall know Iβm getting ready to make a super impact in the community because thatβs the most important thing to me right now, thatβs my passion: to make sure everybody is treated equally, to make sure we get equal justice, to make sure that everybody is on the same level playing field and I hope that you will stand behind me in my positive purpose of making this happen. The announcement came a day before the death of fellow Geto Boys member Bushwick Bill, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 52.
Taking into consideration Scarfaceβs involvement with the Positive Purpose Movementβa nonprofit organization that creates and supports programs for underrepresented communities through education, empowerment and enrichmentβa move into politics sounds like a natural progression.
Weβll miss him on the mic but wish him well on his latest endeavor.
