Ice T Goes Off On People Complaining About Law & Order

The actor replied to critics in a series of now-viral tweets.

Ice T is not here for the โ€œLaw & Orderโ€ complaints. The rapper and actor responded to criticism that the long-running Dick Wolf series has gone โ€œwokeโ€ and needs to go โ€œback to normalโ€ in a series of tweets, as Complex reported.

When an X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote, โ€œDid they write SVU back to normal yet? It started to go woke,โ€ Ice T responded: โ€œWhat the F is Woke? lol Like I give a F-ck.โ€ Naturally, fans engaged heavily with his response, giving their own definitions of what it means to be โ€œwoke.โ€

While one user curiouslyย compared it to having to tear down his โ€œJohn Wayne statues,โ€ the rapper replied, โ€œThat sounds Dopeโ€ฆ F John Wayne.โ€

Ice T then was sure to give his own take on the current political landscape, but only so much. He wrote in the post, โ€œI stay outta Political shit. Like I said beforeโ€ฆ The Blue Vs The Redโ€ฆ Itโ€™s GangBangin to me.โ€

The rapperโ€™s tweets naturally took the internet (and the press) by storm. Once his โ€œLaw & Orderโ€ opinions made it to Variety magazine, the actor had yet another reaction for the whole debacle.

As Complex reports, Ice T has played Detective Odafin Tutuola for 24 years. Since the actor joined โ€œLaw & Order: SVUโ€ in its second season in 2000, Ice T has earned accolades, including an NAACP Image Award for his portrayal. The long-running show is set to return for its 26th season this fall, with Ice T again reprising his beloved role.

The series returns to NBC on Thursday, October 3rd, with episodes streaming next day on Peacock. Check out the season 26 trailer below:
