Don’t call it a comeback, but Janet Jackson’s return to music with her new album, Unbreakable, is a record-setting one. Jackson’s 11th studio album has become her seventh No. 1 on the Billboard 200. So far Jackson has had a top-100 album in each of the last four decades.
According to Billboard, the 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on traditional album sales, track-equivalent albums and streaming-equivalent albums. Unbreakable, which was released Oct. 2, is at No. 1 with 116,000 equivalent-album units earned at the end of last week and 109,000 in album sales. Jackson now joins the likes of Barbra Streisand and Madonna, who set similar records.
