Katt Williams just canโt lose in 2024. After kicking off this crazy year of hate with his now-infamous interview with Shannon Sharpe on the โClub Shay Shayโ podcast, the โAmerican Hustleโ comedian is now dodging a lawsuit that could have cost him millions of dollars.

Originally filed in August 2016, Angelina Triplett-Hill claimed Williams assaulted her on the set of a movie in 2014. He allegedly hit her in the face several times, leading to her falling on her face and losing consciousness, according to the lawsuit.
Triplett-Hill claims that she was Williamsโ personal assistant at the time of the alleged assault. Initially, she was awarded a substantial default judgment worth $1.7 million since the controversial comedian ignored the case and did not appear in court to defend himself. But the tables have now turned.
In a recent report from Vibe, Williamsโ attorney, Jeremiah Reynolds, was able to convince the judge to throw out the judgment, leading to the suit going to trial.
Along with arguing that there were no hospital records or police reports to prove that Triplett-Hill was being truthful about her alleged injuries, Reynolds was also able to bring to court a woman who is his actual personal assistant, leading to another win for Williams in 2024.
In a statement, Reynolds said, โKatt said he did nothing wrong and would never pay the woman a cent. He accepted the risks and understood that the plaintiff would try to play on sympathy at trial to ask for even more money.โ
He added, โAt trial, we argued that the plaintiff had created a false narrative of working for Katt as his assistant and faked the incident. The plaintiff tried to play on the jurorsโ emotions, supposed โpower imbalances,โ and did everything she could to try to bring in irrelevant and prejudicial evidence about Katt. Judge Snyder excluded it all.โ
Amid this legal win, Williams has continued to troll Sean โDiddyโ Combs about his myriad of legal troubles after his โpropheticโ revelations about the music mogul during his January interview with Sharpe.
In September, in a since-expired post on his Instagram story, he posted a clip from โBad Boys IIโ in which Martin Lawrenceโs character Marcus tells Will Smithโs character Mike โhis ass still hurtsโ after three days of activity, a reference to Diddyโs alleged โfreak-offs.โ
Earlier this month, during a comedy show, he also made jokes about Diddyโs massive stash of baby oil, saying, โNot 1,000 bottles of baby oil, Jesus! It ainโt that much ashy in the world. Everybody know that. P. Diddy dumb a** lawyer said, โHe probably got it at Costco.โ Costco hit right back: โWe donโt even sell baby oil.โโ
