The Weinstein Company, which produced and distributed Lee Danielsโ€™ The Butler, reportedly will finance the project.

Actors under consideration for the Pryor film, which has been in the works for years, include Michael B. Jordan,ย Marlonย Wayansย andย Eddie Murphy. Wayans, at 41 years old, is considered to be the right age for the project, and his screen test is said to have impressedย Harvey Weinstein.ย

His widow, Jennifer Pryor, is producing the film. She will provide more than 50 pages of Pryor's personal journals, which give a glimpse into his brilliant, but dark, mind.
