Most people remember comedian and actress Yvette Wilson best for her role on the '90s sitcom Moesha โ on which she played Andell Wilkerson alongside Brandy โ and the show's spinoff, The Parkers. Today the Washington Post reports that she has died at age 48 after a battle with cervical cancer. Wilson's former co-star Shar Jackson tweeted late Thursday, "God has chosen to take my sister Yvette home"โ

Wilsonโs friend, creative director Jeffrey Pittle, created a Give Forward page to raise money for the actressโs medical bills in January. โYvette has experienced kidney failure, kidney transplants and cervical cancer, among other things,โ Pittle wrote. โHer cancer has come back after an extended retreat, and doctors are saying itโs very aggressive this time out.โ
Request for comment from Pittle on Wilsonโs passing has not been returned.
