Along with more than 250,000 supportive tweets, Texas high school student Ahmed Mohamed, who was arrested over a homemade clock, got support from President Barack Obama on Twitter.
The hashtag #IStandWithAhmed has been a trending topic throughout the day on Wednesday, but it was the show of support from Obama that proves the 14-year-old has a whole lot of people in his corner.

The president’s tweet has received well over 120,000 retweets, and one can only assume that he’ll make good on his word and extend Ahmed an invite.
Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great.

On Monday, Ahmed was arrested after he thought he was displaying a sign of his achievements in science and technology by attempting to show off a homemade clock to his teacher at MacArthur High School in Dallas. Unfortunately it didn’t go as planned.
Ahmed was arrested because the teacher thought it was a bomb. Earlier today, school and police officials admitted their mistake in the incident, and the charges have been dropped.

#IStandWithAhmed proves that there are a lot more people in the world smarter than Ahmed’s teachers at MacArthur High School.
