Rep. Robert Garcia Addresses Dean Phillips: ‘He Better Keep The VP’s Name Out Of His Mouth’

Garcia took to X to express fury over Phillips's disrespectful remarks.

Looks like Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) is not playing about VP Kamala Harris. On Tuesday, the Democrat lawmaker took to X to address presidential candidate and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) directly about the disparaging comments Phillips made about Harris.

The upsetting commentary was published in an interview with The Atlantic. Phillips, who has a shot in hell at securing the Democratic presidential nomination, stated that others folks said Harris isnโ€™t right for the role of Vice President.

โ€œI hear from others who know her a lot better than I do that many think sheโ€™s not well positioned,โ€ Phillips said. โ€œShe is not well prepared, doesnโ€™t have the right disposition and the right competencies to execute that office. Itโ€™s pretty clear that sheโ€™s not somebody people have faith in,โ€ he also stated referring to her low approval rating.

He did, however, add that he has โ€œenjoyedโ€ interacting with Harris and that heโ€™s โ€œnot seen those deficienciesโ€ in his โ€œpersonal experience.โ€ However, Garcia sees right through Phillipsโ€™s cheap tactics.

โ€œApparently Dean Phillips is floundering so hard that heโ€™s now resorting to attacking Vice-President Harris. He better keep the VPโ€™s name out of his mouth and apologize. No one will support him so heโ€™s going to torch his entire reputation on the way out. Sad to see,โ€ Garcia wrote on X.

Phillips chose to enter the race just last month, which would only hurt Bidenโ€™s reelection chances against the person who is most likely to be his opponent: Donald Trump.

The Biden campaign hasnโ€™t really paid any attention to Phillips, with the national Democratic Party refusing to let him debate Biden. In response, Phillips criticized the presidentโ€™s age in his campaign announcement.

โ€œI think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country. But itโ€™s not about the past. This is an election about the future.โ€ Phillips knows he wonโ€™t win and is doing everything in his power to stay relevant. It truly is sad to see.
