Will we ever get new Rihanna music? The musician and mogul recently opened up about her music career, leaving the prospect of more songs from her even more uncertain than ever before.

At a Fenty Beauty event in her home country of Barbados this week, Rihanna took to the mic to speak about her vast career, which started in music but has since branched out into other highly successful business ventures like her Fenty Skin, Fenty Beauty and fashion line.
Giving an uptade to her fans during the speech, she reportedly said, “Music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me, and I was able to create in ways that were very sincere, genuine, organic and authentic to the things that I love.”

We certainly hope so. Fans have been clamoring for new music from the hitmaker since her last album “Anti” dropped eight years ago. While her empire has grown far beyond music since then, the “Navy” will never stop wanting more music from Rihanna, who at one point released an album a year for the better part of a decade.
Her fans took to social media after her comments made waves online, with many hilariously reacting to the prospect of never getting new Rihanna music again. One user wrote, “Rihanna been bought herself of out that recording contract. She’ll release Fenty Furniture before another album and I love that for her.” Another user shared similar sentiments, hilariously bidding farewell to “Rihanna the singer.”
Rihanna has teased new music for years, leading her fans to be skeptical if it will ever come. She recently told Entertainment Tonight that music for her is a “new discovery:” “I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio,” she explained.
She added that she is “starting over,” while adding, “but I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”
