Solange won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance for her song “Cranes in the Sky” from her 2016 album A Seat at the Table, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last October, making it her first No. 1 album.

If she had been able to accept her award on live television, best believe she would have had something to say.

Although she didn’t get a chance to give a speech, she was quick to tweet a reaction that most people felt was a direct response to her sister Beyoncé getting snubbed for several awards:

After Adele won the Album of the Year Award, Solange tweeted a link to Frank Ocean’s Tumblr post, where he accused the Grammys of being culturally biased.

“Winning a TV award doesn’t christen me successful. It took me some time to learn that,” Ocean wrote.

“Believe the people. Believe the ones who’d rather watch select performances from your program on YouTube the day after because your show puts them to sleep,” he continued. “Use the old gramophone to actually listen bro, I’m one of the best alive.

“And if you’re up for a discussion about the cultural bias and general nerve damage the show you produce suffers from then I’m all for it,” he said.

During her post-award interview, Solange didn’t mention that Beyoncé lost to Adele, but spoke about what influenced her album.

Tina Knowles-Lawson and Mathew Knowles are definitely two proud parents.
