โ€œTaraji P Henson is a powerful woman and a powerful actress. She is an entertainer that fans cannot take their eyes off of due to her great acting ability,โ€ said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk Of Fame. โ€œWe welcome her bright star on our Walk Of Fame.โ€

During the ceremony, Henson will be flanked by her Baby Boy director John Singleton, as well as multi-hyphenate Mary J Bligeโ€”each of whom will speak at the ceremony, which is scheduled for January 28.

The 48-year-old Washington DC-native cut her teeth as an extra before landing her breakthrough role as Yvette in the BET movie night mainstay Baby Boy, alongside Tyrese Gibson and Snoop โ€œFuck Yo Fort, Lil Niggaโ€ Dogg.

She followed that up with celebrated roles in David Fincherโ€™s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the Will Packer-produced Think Like a Man, and breathed life into all that is Cookie Lyon in Foxโ€™s musical drama โ€œEmpireโ€.

Next on her plate is What Men Want, a remake of Mel Gibsonโ€™s What Women Want that will arrive in theaters on February 9.
