Thanks to Trump, Democrats are No Longer ‘Going High’…It’s Now Clapback City

The Dems decided to employ the same antics Republicans have used for years.

At Tuesday nightโ€™s second presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris did something that no one expected her to do: she sunk to her opponent Donald Trumpโ€™s level. Throughout the debate, she baited Trump by essentially calling him a liar, saying that people leave his campaign rallies out of โ€œexhaustion and boredomโ€ and telling him that military leaders have labeled him a โ€œdisgrace.โ€

Trump is known for name-calling, making up things that arenโ€™t true and intentionally spreading disinformation so he and his allies can have the political upper hand. The violent Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection was a culmination of Trumpโ€™s followers believing his lie that the 2020 election was stolen and that he was the real winner. He has done this since he initially started his quest for the White House back in 2015 and throughout his disastrous presidential term.

In response, it seems Dems have finally gotten fed up with taking Michelle Obamaโ€™s famous โ€œwhen they go low, we go highโ€ approach and are meeting Republicans in the basement where they love to dwell.

Harris smoking Trumpโ€™s boots on Tuesday was the most recent example, but there have been several others from the party.

Former President Barack Obama infamously mocked Donald Trumpโ€™s โ€œweird obsession with crowd sizesโ€ last month at the Democratic National Convention, while his wife and former First Lady Michelle Obama blatantly called out Trumpโ€™s history of racism.

โ€œFor years, Donald Trump did everything in his power to try to make people fear us. See, his limited, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hardworking, highly educated, successful people who happen to be Black,โ€ Michelle said.

She also poked fun at Trumpโ€™s commentary at the June debate in which he stated that immigrants coming into America and โ€œtaking Black jobs.โ€

โ€œWhoโ€™s going to tell him that the job [Trumpโ€™s] currently seeking might just be one of those โ€˜Black jobsโ€™?โ€ Michelle boldly added to rousing applause.

The Democratic Party has categorized Republicans as โ€œweirdโ€ (a quip started by Harrisโ€™ running mate Tim Walz that has picked up steam) and have even made petty couch jokes at JD Vanceโ€™s expense.

When the Harris-Walz campaign isnโ€™t combatting misinformation, they are also throwing shots online. Last month, their โ€œbirthday messageโ€ to Vance was deliciously sarcastic in tone: โ€œWhile we wish JD a happy 40th, the American people will make certain that he celebrates his 41st anywhere but the White House.โ€

Letโ€™s see if Dems fighting fire with fire will help them keep the White House in November.
