This vomit-inducing Senate revision of President Donald Trumpβs initial trashy health care bill was doomed from the time Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell thought it was a good idea to have an all-male GOP lineup working behind closed doors in secret to create it.
On Thursday, the Frankenstein-esque creation of Trumpcareβdubbed the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017βwas done in a mysterious GOP laboratory filled with Wiffle Ball bats and Bud Light, and was finally unveiledβand for the first timeβto the public, other GOP members and their Democratic counterparts. Thursday was the first day that everyone got to see this horrid creation up close, and you donβt have to read any further than this, but itβs trash.

The bill is very similar to the version of the House bill that passed last month but with some key changes. The text released Thursday showed the Senate legislation would still make major changes to the nationβs health care system, repealing Obamacareβs individual mandate, drastically cutting back federal support of Medicaid, eliminating Obamacareβs taxes on the wealthy, insurers and others. The Senate plan, however, would keep Obamacareβs subsidies to help people pay for individual coverage.ο»Ώο»Ώ
In short, the Senate version still plans to phase out Planned Parenthood funding for one year. And because this administration and those who believe in it donβt care about poor people (that includes poor white people who voted for this oligarch!), low-income people would pay higher prices for less coverage.
You can read an in-depth analysis of the Senate version of Trumpcare here, but I warn you that itβs trash.
