(The Root) β€” Twitter continues its communal viewing of the George Zimmerman murder trial, and while it was inevitable that the people charged with defending Zimmerman would be seen as heartless bullies by those rooting for justice in the form of a guilty verdict, today a hero emerged in the form of medical examiner Dr. Shiping Bao, the man who performed Trayvon Martin's autopsy.

On the stand, Dr. Bao pushed back against any effort the defense made to mold or reinterpret his answers. Media covering the trial referred to Dr. Bao as "rogue" and "combative," but Twitter saw a man who stuck to his guns and refused to be railroaded.
