As PEOPLE reported, the actress posted over the holiday weekend with a cryptic post about womanhood, as well as a carousel celebrating the end of summer. The post read, βA man can CHOOSE to belong to someone. And if he doesβ¦ he is considered noble. A woman is told she MUST belong to someone or β¦ she is not worthy.β
The caption continued this meditation on womanhood, with Pinkett Smith writing about how in some religions the βgoddessβ is seen as powerless βwithout her male counterpart.β She continued, βWe mere mortal women are worthy simply because we exist! And those of us who have cultivated our Queendom within our inner kingdom and have a deep relationship with the Great Supreme.β
She concluded that we βneed not bond in fear,β asking her followers to βwalk with thatβ over the holiday weekend. The day before, Pinkett Smith rang in the end of summer with photos from the last few months, including various beachside pics and video of her on a jet ski.
βSummer is coming to an end and my heart has been blooming in so many ways,β she wrote in the caption. βCanβt wait to share. Till thenβ¦Iβm just embracing the last of the summer vibez.β
Pinkett Smithβs latest post is not the first time she has been refreshingly candid about her life and thoughts. As The Root previously reported, she let the world into many specific details about her life following up toΒ the release of her 2023 memoir βWorthy.β
The memoir offered her perspective on everything from the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap moment to how a seven-year βseparationβ from her husband actually helped their marriage in the long run.
