(The Root) — The Values Voter Summit, an annual political conference for social conservatives, started on Friday, and the "take back America" crew wasted no time in stirring ire.After hecklers interrupted his speech, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said that it was President Barack Obama who sent "paid political operatives" to distract him from delivering his message. And then there's our favorite: Dr. Benjamin Carson's suggestion that Obamacare is the worst thing to happen to this country since slavery. He failed to elaborate on how giving Americans access to health care is worse than Jim Crow, mass incarceration, the Great Depression, Hurricane Katrina or Miley Cyrus, but whatever.
