An interaction between Sean “Diddy” Combs and singer Justin Bieber from years ago is being called into question amid the former’s latest legal troubles.

In a resurfaced clip from 2021, the two can be seen talking discreetly before they part ways. While not much can be made of their conversation, Diddy starts off by saying “I appreciate you” before continuing to talk to the singer. But it’s what he’s doing with his hands that has the internet giving him the side eye.
While the two are conversing, Diddy is shown repeatedly tapping on Justin’s chest at different points — as if he’s checking to see if he’s wearing a wire.
While we don’t know if that’s exactly the case or if the Bad Boy mogul is just extremely expressive while he talks, folks on X/Twitter had theories of their own.
“Love how he’s patting him down for a wire, front and back. If he’s done nothing wrong to him in the past, why is he afraid. Makes you really wonder, doesn’t it?” wrote one user.
“Poor Justin Bieber probably been through it all with Diddy and the rest of the Hollywood creeps :/,” said another.
“Nobody wears wires anymore bro. but i do think he was doing some sort of display of power to a vulnerable bieber who could possibly have some terrible trauma by what he’s seen or dealt with from diddy at a young age[sic],” one user said.
Though this video was recorded well before Diddy was arrested and federally indicted on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution, one could expect that the timeliness of its resurfacing would have Justin somewhat nervous. This coupled with the duo’s documented history of hanging out would arguably be ample reason for the “Hold Tight” singer to be worried. But as we told you previously, he isn’t paying Diddy or his drama any mind — instead, he’s spending time with his wife and nearly two-month-old child.
