Jennifer Hudson is spreading holiday cheer with her youngest, and most adorable, guest yet. The 5-year-old viral internet star Christopher Bess, known as Coach CB, appeared on the latest episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” breaking down his morning routine and his biggest dreams. Bess, the son of a North Carolina high school basketball coach Reggie Bess, went viral online earlier this year for the inspirational speeches he would give the basketball team ahead of their games.

In his interview with Hudson, Bess revealed he gets up as early as 3 or 5 a.m. on Saturdays, which is quite the dedication for a 5-year-old kid. “A shocked Hudson said, “You take this job very seriously,” to which Bess replied, “I got to get paid a lot!”
He also adorably broke down his breakfast routine (french toast sticks and cheerios), his “coffee” (a box of apple juice), and how he is learning a second language: Spanish. Check out the touching interview clip below.
Later in the segment, Hudson surprised the basketball fanatic with an unexpected gift. He explained to the host that the last time he was in Los Angeles, he didn’t have the best time because he didn’t get to go to a Lakers game and didn’t get to see his “boy” LeBron James. Hudson then made Bess’ day, surprising him with a Lakers-themed gift.
“Our friends at the Los Angeles Lakers knew you were coming and they sent you something,” she explained, bringing out an epic gift for the 5-year-old. Hudson then presented a Lakers jersey for Bess, before then presenting tickets for him and his family to see the Lakers play.
A shocked Christopher then cheered “Thank you,” running to Hudson and giving her a hug. The adorable moment has already raked up almost 6 million views on TikTok and over 100k views on Instagram Reels. The little coach has clearly already accomplished quite a lot at just 5-years-old, and we can’t wait to see what else he achieves in the coming years.
