One of the images that flashed on the screen during the emotional moment was one of Emhoff helping to drag a man off stage and away from Harris while she was doing an interview. It stemmed from an incident that happened five years ago, which is now making it rounds on social media in a popular resurfaced video.
In the 2019 clip, Harrisโwho was acting as California senatorโwas speaking at MoveOnโs Big Ideas Forum in San Francisco. While she was talking to moderator Karine Jean-Pierre, a self-proclaimed animal rights protestor stormed the stage.
Not only did the bearded man run up to Harris, he also tore the mic from her hand while saying how he had a โmuch bigger ideaโ before following her around the stage. Thatโs when security came in and tried to remove the man, who resisted.
And itโs alsoย when Emhoff jumped in and helped remove the man from the stage. In addition, he took back the microphone at the same time. Harris wound up leaving the stage, but returned to chant from the audience of โKamala!โ
On X, MoveOn apologized for the incident. โWe sincerely regret that a protestor was able to gain access to the stage at our forum today & we apologize to Sen. @KamalaHarris,โ the organization stated.
โThe protestor was removed & the program resumed. MoveOn members were excited to hear Harris continue to discuss her Big Idea to achieve pay equity.โ
Emhoff does not play about his wife in any shape, form or fashionโthis video simply reiterated that.
