I don’t think there’s anyone else who’s having a better year than Usher. Not only did he win the President’s Award at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards earlier this year, but last week, it was announced he would be one of the main headliners at this year’s ESSENCE Festival of Culture. And now, he’s been revealed as the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Honoree at the 2024 BET Awards in June.

And because June 1 is the official start of Black Music Month, we felt it fitting to highlight a handful of artists who are going on tour or kicking off residencies this year. While we know you may not get to catch everyone, here’s hoping you can still score some tickets anyhow!

Let’s kick things off with Usher. His Coming Home Tour will officially get kicked off in August in Atlanta. Yes, most of the dates are sold out, but there are a few cities with availability.

Speaking with USA Today on why she finally chose to do the tour now after her 25-year-long career, Missy explained:

I had the opportunities to tour alone, but because I was so engulfed in writing and producing for myself and other artists, I never felt like I wanted to be out that long without being able to continue doing that. But then one day I was like, ‘I want to go out.’ My management, they didn’t believe me. But my manager called me the next day and said, ‘Are you serious?’ and I said, ‘yeah, I want to go out.’ I believe God aligned it. Mentally, I was ready. Physically, I was ready.
