One of the cardinal sins of adulthood is embarrassing your kidsâespecially if theyâre teenagers.
As an unruly adolescent myself in a past life, I have vivid memories of my mother calling me âCoochâ in front of my friends, or my Dadâs bizarre obsession with 2Pacâs âHow Do U Want Itâ (âThat song is bad!â he would exclaim, while dry humping the air).

But this?
This is peak caucacity.
This is well beyond coed softball games or spoonfuls of gluten-free cottage cheese.
Imagine youâre a Toledo, Ohio, high schooler on the brink of taking some of the most important tests of your academic lifeâa series of tests required for you to graduate high school.
So you go to bed early to get your mind right, then after smashing breakfast, you stumble upon this motley crew of mayosapiens delivering their best Michael Eric Dyson impression.
âGood morning, TPS students!â WTOLâs Melissa Andrews begins. âIt is testing week and itâs time to slay all day.â
âYEEEEET!â her co-anchor, Tim Miller, interjects. âStay woke, be on fleek, get that Gucci breakfast.â
Wait, what?
âGOOOOALS!â an exuberant Andrews continues. âSay âBye, Feliciaâ to that testing stress.â
âUmmm, yeah, fuck this test,â you mutter, before removing your Vans and hurling them at the TV.
But if this parade of fuckery wasnât revolting enough, it reaches its crescendo when they trot out newscaster Steven Jacksonâbetter known as your friendly neighborhood traffic anchor token negro.
âOKURRRRR!â he belts out mid-shuck and jive, butchering Cardi Bâs signature catchphrase. âWeâre talking turnt! FOMO wonât be an issue.â
While his wife was unavailable for comment on this story, his couch confirmed that Jackson had been exiled from the bedroom.
âI mean, did you watch that shit?â his couch said in disgust. âYeah, that nigga gonâ be sleeping on me until the next DâAngelo album.â
Toledo locals also had plenty to say about The Little Newscast That Couldnât:
âI canât believe this is my news station,â tweeted @G0NEGIRLL. âI cannot believe this is real.â
Unfortunately, I can. Because one of Americaâs favorite pastimes is making a mockery of the same means of expression that black people are killed and admonished for.
