Will Smith took to Facebook on Friday to wish happy birthday to his wife of nearly 17 years, Jada Pinkett Smith, hitting back at ongoing rumors of an impending divorce.
“I have sung happy birthday to you 20 times and I have bought you 19 birthday presents (I was mad that one year),” he wrote in the post, which has been shared more than 250,000 times since it went up Friday. “I have watched you blow out 693 candles (737 after tonite). I’ve told you ‘I love you’ at least 8,285 times. And of the nearly 3.96 Billion women on the planet—there is only 1 that I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

He began the gushing post with a picture of the two as a young couple, writing, “This was taken at your mom’s house 20 years ago. That’s a long time ago!!!”
The gushing prose flies in the face of rumors of a troubled marriage that have dogged the couple for years. So bad were the rumors last month that Smith posted a Facebook message denying talk of a divorce, according to the New York Daily News.
The two have been married since 1997 and have two children, Jaden, 17, and Willow, 14.
