Willow Smith told us we weren’t ready, and man, was she right. We just recovered from the stunning looks she served up at Paris Fashion Week, and now she’s killing us softly all over again, teasing new music with gorgeously artistic visuals.

For the past week, she’s been leaving hints about her new single, “Symptom of Life,” scheduled to drop on March 12. On March 1, the 23-year-old singer and actress posted a video of herself on Instagram rocking jeans and a cropped tank with a smooth piano riff in the background. The clip, captioned, “y’all are not ready <>,” was shared with Smith’s over 11 million followers and even got a reaction from singer/songwriter Jon Batiste, who left more than a few fire emojis in the comments section.

But when she came back to social media on March 4 to share the cover art for the single, she put folks on notice.

The black-and-white photo, taken by multidisciplinary artist Salomé Gomis-Trezise, stopped fans in their tracks with over 264,000 views and counting on X. Smith is topless in the pic, wearing just jeans and a few creative hair accessories. With closed eyes, she wraps her arms around herself – so she’s basically covered up with the exception of some serious side boob action.

Since launching her music career, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s youngest child has carved a lane for herself that goes far beyond just being a nepo baby. Her 2015 single, “Wait a Minute!,” just reached over a billion streams on Spotify – making her the first in her family to reach that musical milestone.

Smith’s latest looks have been undeniably fierce as she comes into her own as an artist to be taken seriously. And she’s forcing all of us to accept that the little girl who whipped her hair back and forth in 2011 is all grown up.

With her new single, Willow says she wants to honor nature that is all around us.

“The song is about the wholeness of life, my devotion to the darkness and the light that we see in this world. It’s also about my honoring of nature and honoring how nature is a huge representation of truth how nature is meant to be learned from and protected,” she said on TikTok.
